Music Appreciation Talks at Blackheath Halls with Matthew Taylor
Autumn 2014 Course: THE 20TH CENTURY CONCERTO (1900-1950)
Since 1991 Matthew has been running a series of music appreciation illustrated
talks at Blackheath Halls. Each term is devoted to one chosen subject, usually
the works of one composer, group or theme in which Matthew illustrates at the
piano and plays recordings.
The lectures are devised so that one does not need technical knowledge whilst
at the same time the experienced aficionado has always something new to learn.
The next 10 week course has talks on Monday mornings from 10am to 12
noon in the Recital Room at Blackheath Halls:
September 22nd, 29th
October 6th, 13th, 20th
November 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th (in the Great Hall)
December 1st
The course fee is £80 payable at the first session.
Newcomers can have a taster for free while for those who cannot manage to attend
the whole term, a special arrangement can usually be made.
